Arthur Fahrner Obituary (1924 - 2013) - Sand Springs, Oklahoma

Arthur ?Art? Fahrner, age 88, of Sand Springs, passed from this life on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at his family?s home. Art was born on May 27, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to Arthur A. and Fern (Holmes) Fahrner. He graduated from high school in Detroit and entered the United States Army-Aircorp during World War II. He married Mildred Isaacs on August 11, 1951 in Ponca City and then was called to serve his country again in the Korean War. After the Art was honorably discharged from the military he came back to Enid, Oklahoma were he and Mildred made their home. Art attended Phillips University in Enid where he received his degree Draftsmanship. The family later moved to Caney, Kansas where Art worked for Phillips Petroleum for over thirty-five years before retiring. Mildred passed away on May 27, 2010. Art had a personal relationship with Jesus and he loved sharing it with others. He is survived by his two daughters; Roxie Adams and husband Marshall of Sand Springs, Rhonda Nelson and husband Tony of Bartlesville, three sisters; Pat Dennison and husband Chuck of Iowa, Ruth and husband Gordon, and Pat Agrusa and husband John of California, four grandchildren; John Aaron Adams and wife Kaori of Washington State, Nathen Adams of Tulsa, Julie McCune and husband Robert of Tulsa and Jennifer Nelson of Bartlesville. Also surviving Art was three great-grandchildren Ethan Adams, Eli Adams and Eric Adams. Art was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mildred Fahrner, step-father Eric Reeves, brothers Dennis Reeves, Robert Fahrner, Ted Fahrner and Bill Fahrner, two sisters; Shirley Paradee and Barbara Rickann.
