Avery Nathaniel Martin

–

Tulsa, Oklahoma

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Avery Nathaniel Martin on October 6, 2024, at the tender age of 21. Avery was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 20, 2003, and lived a life filled with adventure, compassion, dedication, and love. As C.S. Lewis once said, "Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny." Avery was no ordinary man, and his life was a testament to an extraordinary destiny filled with cherished moments, significant accomplishments, and a legacy of love.

Passionately adventurous, Avery had an insatiable thirst for new experiences. He was a graduate of Berryhill, class of 2021, and was attending Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, majoring in Bible and family ministry. His love for golfing, playing the guitar, Oklahoma State Football, and fishing was only surpassed by his love for travel. Alongside his beloved fiancée Mckensey Davis, whom he met in 2019, they journeyed to awe-inspiring destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Thailand. His compassionate nature and dedication to serving others shone brightly in his passion for ministering to teens and young adults about Christ. He was a loving individual whose spirit touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Avery is survived by his parents, Nate and Lori Martin, his brothers, Addison and Asher Martin, his fiancée, Mckensey Davis and her family, Clint, Briley, Easton, Tyler and Morgan Davis, his grandparents, Mike and Carol Martin of Muskogee, OK, Peggy and Jerry Griggs of Tulsa, OK, Steve and Elaine Jones of Little Rock, AR, his aunts and uncles, his cousins and many, many friends. Avery was preceded in death by his MawMaw and GG.

His life will be honored and celebrated at a service to be held at the Memorial Drive Church of Christ, 1438 South Indianapolis Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74112, on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 10:00am CDT. Friends and family are also invited to gather at Dillon Funeral Service, 1200 North Cleveland Avenue, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, 74063, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 5:00pm CDT.

In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "It is not length of life, but depth of life." Avery's life, though short, was profoundly deep, touching many hearts and souls. We invite you to leave memories, share stories, and upload photos on the memorial page to celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved Avery.
