We say goodbye to Barbara Jean Coombes, who passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2023, at the age of 83.\n\nBorn and raised in Oklahoma and a childhood polio survivor, Barbara was the proud mother of three sons, and a loving grandmother to three generations of grandchildren.\n\nShe dedicated her career in service as a surgery technician at Hillcrest Hospital. In her retirement, Barbara still loved to stay busy. She was always working on home improvement projects, quilting, gardening, fishing, or spending quality time with her family. She also enjoyed being a member in the congregation of Crosswalk Church.\n\nShe enjoyed cooking, and many of us have fond memories of her summer fish fries and homemade ice cream, and her special big-batch recipes of chex-mix in the fall and winter. It was funny to watch her as she frequently argued with each of her cats she had through the years.\n\nHer heart, and her home, were always open. She left the door unlocked and always welcomed visits from friends and family.\n\nWe all love her dearly and will never forget her determination, tenacity, and undying love and care for us. May she rest in peace and live forever in our hearts.
