David Bartee

David James Bartee, a lifelong resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at the age of 77.

Born on December 12, 1947, David graduated from Webster High School in 1966. He began his professional life in construction, working from 1968 to 1981 as a proud member of Local Union 584. In 1981, he transitioned to a new chapter as an insurance broker, a role in which he served his clients and community with dedication until his retirement in 2016.

David also had a deep passion for wrestling and spent over three decades officiating high school and college matches across Oklahoma from 1967 to 2002. He was known for his fairness, calm demeanor, and commitment to the athletes he served.

Faith was central to David's life. For over 40 years, he played bass guitar during church music services, bringing joy and worship through his music. He found happiness in simple pleasures-fishing, gardening, working outdoors-and rarely missed a chance to cheer on OU football and wrestling.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Bartee (née Moore); his two sons: Brian Bartee and his wife Brandi, and Brandon Bartee and his wife Kari; and seven cherished granddaughters: Annalise, Kathryn, Marissa, Isabella, Alexandra, Adrianna, and Kealan.

His legacy of love, faith, hard work, and quiet strength lives on in all who knew and loved him.
