Donald “Larry” Hargrove, 84, passed away on January 28, 2024. Born on September 15, 1939 in Leachville, AR, Larry was the oldest child born to Don and Opal Hargrove. He grew up in Berryhill, Oklahoma but considered Conway, Arkansas his home. After graduating Berryhill High school in 1957, he worked for a few years before leaving to serve in the United States Army from 1960 – 1963. After returning from the Army, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he met the love of his life, Meda Nan Grifford in 1965. They married within one year on September 2, 1966. In 1969, they gave birth to their first son, Terry Don. Upon making a career change, Larry moved his family to Little Rock, AR in 1976, and in 1983, they welcomed their second son Brian Allen. \n\nLarry’s most proud accomplishments were his two sons, Terry and Brian, and being married to his wife, Meda Nan for 57 years. His only grandchild Rebecca, held a special place in his heart. Larry had many titles throughout his life, but his favorites were Dad, Husband, Grandpa, Father-in-law and “UL”. Throughout his work career, he felt the most privileged to work alongside his son Terry at Toyota. \n\nHis most treasured moments were spending time with family, deep sea fishing trips and the many trips he took with his wife and in-laws. He was a proud Razorback fan until he discovered the Oklahoma Sooners. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching anything sport related and western movies. He developed his love for cooking from his Mother, Opal and was always happy to share his food and secret recipes with his family and friends. His holiday meals will be greatly missed. \n\nPreceded in death by his parents Don and Opal Hargrove, son Brian Hargrove and sister Linda Diffee, Larry is survived by his wife, Meda, his son Terry Hargrove (Michelle), granddaughter Rebecca Hargrove and brother Roger Hargrove (Lori). Larry leaves behind a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews. \n\nMemorial service will be held Friday, Feb 2nd at 2pm at Dillon Funeral Service located in Sand Springs, OK.
