Ford Bankston Obituary (1920

Ford Alfred Bankston age 94, passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born in Tulsa on August 11, 1920, to Gathar V. and Benjamin G. Bankston, Sr. He was preceded in death by both his parents. Ford graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1937 and received a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa in 1941. He worked in the oil business for 44 years, mostly at Union Oil of California. He was a member of First Methodist Church of Houston, the SPE Legion of Honor, Pioneer Oil Producers Society, and the Pachyderm Club of Greater Houston. He was married in 1950 to Hazel, his wife of 59 years, who predeceased him in 2009. After Ford's retirement in 1985 from Unocal, he and Hazel attended many classes at the Women's Institute and traveled over much of the world. Ford is survived by his brother, Dr. Benjamin Bankston, Jr., his wife Darena, and their 2 daughters, Cathy Bankston and Cindy Anderson and her husband, Keith Anderson, and their children, Hannah and James, all of Tulsa, and by Hazel's great-niece, Pattie Jo Cole, her husband Tim, and their son Spencer of Houston.
