Gaines DuVall, Sr. Obituary (1947 - 2024)

Gaines Day DuVall Sr., age 76, was blessed to be in the arms of our Heavenly Father on Sunday February 18th. He was surrounded by friends and family holding his hand and telling him they loved him up until his last breath here on earth. Gaines was born December 4th, 1947 in Louisville Kentucky. Gaines lived an amazing life, having multiple roles to various people. He was a loyal son & brother to his family. He had more friends than he knew about and was revered by them. His role as a father was something he cherished for 49 years, having always known he would have a Gaines Jr. For a career, he was the best sports portrait photographer of all time and worked with just about every high level athlete for 40+ years. With all of that said, his most important role and the one he wanted everyone to know about was his relationship with our Heavenly Father. At the age of 16 Gaines asked Jesus Christ into his heart and for 60 years couldn’t wait to be in his arms. Gaines is survived by his son, Gaines DuVall Jr; Daughter in Law Tiffany DuVall; his Grandchildren Sedona and Gaines III; his siblings Trudy Torzala, Daniel DuVall and David DuVall; his former wife and mother of his son, Debra Dillingham. Gaines was preceded in death by his older brother Powers DuVall; parents Rankin DuVall and Jayne Killen. A Celebration of an Amazing Life will be held on Friday March 15th, 2:00 PM at Aunt Chilada’s in Phoenix, Arizona.
