After graduation, she first honed her teaching training at the New School For Music Study in Princeton, New Jersey. Upon completion, she returned to the University of Tulsa to develop the Piano Pedagogy degree program at the university under the tutelage of her mentor, Richard Chronister. Beginning in 1969, Georgann opened the New Piano Preparatory School here in Tulsa and continued to teach generations of students, young and old, until her death. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Georgann Gasaway Music Memorial fund they are setting up to benefit Marquette School?s music program.
