Gladys E. Ammon

–

Sand Springs, Oklahoma

Gladys Eudoxie Ammon, age 96, of Jenks, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2019. Gladys was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Gladys was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma. She grew up and attended school in Mannford, Oklahoma, where she was Valedictorian of her class. She was a girl who loved to dance, dress up and never miss a party. She loved to be fancy! One of her sister's favorite memories was seeing Gladys getting ready for prom in her beautiful pink taffeta dress. With her long, dark, curly hair tied with a ribbon, she was ready to go! She enjoyed music, bands, and dancing. She spent many evenings at Cain's ballroom dancing the night away and listening to one of her favorite singers, Bob Wills. As she got older, she moved to Shreveport Louisiana, where she started a job and met a good looking, Air Force man, John Ammon. Married to the love of her life, they lived happily ever after. Gladys never knew a stranger. The highlight of her life was her family and friends whom she cherished above all else. Gladys never liked to say goodbyes, instead, she said..."See you later alligator..." We shall see her later, but, for now, she lives in our hearts.
As we are deeply saddened that she has left us, we rejoice in knowing the fulfilling and beautiful life she lived. We celebrate the heavenly reunion she has had with her husband and loved ones who were waiting to greet her, and we know there is a party going on!
Gladys is survived by her children John Ammon, married to Ginger Swan of Bandon Oregon, Elizabeth Ammon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Mike Ammon, married to Sharon Ammon of Edmond Oklahoma. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, sisters and beloved grandson.
