Imogene Cost Obituary (1919 - 2011) - Sand Springs, Oklahoma

Imogene Cost, age 91 of Sand Springs, formally of Altus, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at home. Imogene was born on October 19, 1919, in Tipton, Oklahoma to Paul Vernon and Lota Otella (Whitaker) Helf. She graduated from Tipton High School and later attended school at Oklahoma University. Imogene married Glenn Harding Cost on February 5, 1944, in Altus, Oklahoma, where the couple spent all their married life. Glenn preceded her in death in 1973. Imogene was a homemaker and who in later years after the children were out of school worked as a school secretary for Wilson Elementary School in Altus. Both Glenn and Imogene were very active in her church, Thomas Road (predecessor to Tamarack Road) Church of Christ. In 2005, She moved to Sand Springs where she attended Sand Springs Church of Christ. She is survived by her two sons, Kent Paul Cost and wife Kelli of Columbus, Georgia and Bradley Glenn Cost and wife Kendria of Tulsa, a daughter Karen Jo (Cost) Haas and husband Ron of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Harrell Helf and wife Jean of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Joe Frank Helf and wife Betty of Kelseyville, California; also surviving Imogene are grandchildren, Lori Boyd Deza of Houston, Texas, Christopher Haas of Boerne, Texas, Nicholas Cost of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ryan Cost of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Camden Cost of Stillwater, Oklahoma, six great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Lota Helf, two grandchildren Lisa Danley and Amanda Cost. Funeral Services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m., August 12, 2011, at Sand Springs Church of Christ and Saturday 3:00 p.m. August 13, 2011, at Tamarack Road Church of Christ in Altus, Oklahoma with burial at Rest Lawn Cemetery in Altus.
