James David "Jim" Kirby was born February 8, 1938 in Chouteau, OK. He departed this life on October 24, 2020 at the age of 82 years. Jim moved to Sand Springs, OK from Wagoner, OK at a young age with his mother, Nelly. Jim was an only child and he adored him momma. Later in life he bought a home on Coyote Trail for them to enjoy together. He grew up in Sand Springs and joined the Marines before turning 18 years old and later joined the Air Force. \r\n\r\nJim married Evelyn Shope Kirby in 2009. He loved taking her out to the casinos and spoiling her. He always made sure she was happy.\r\n\r\nJim was the head custodian at Clyde Boyd Middle School in Sand Springs, OK. He loved the lake, being outdoors and buying new lake toys such as wave runners, boats and RV's. He loved old cars and working on new projects around the home as well as building onto his trailer home. Jim also enjoyed working large puzzles, going to estate and garage sales looking for materials for Nelly to make quilts. He was a child in a grandpa's body. Jim was a busy man with a lot of energy and was always up to something ornery. He was a hard working husband and grandfather.\r\n\r\nJim loved sweets and made sure he was always stocked up on ice cream. That man loved ice cream! \r\n\r\nJim is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of the home, 3 sons, 1 daughter and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
