James Michael "Mike" Wells, 68 of Sand Springs, Oklahoma stepped into heaven on Friday, April 28, 2017 as gently as he lived on this earth. Mike was born on May 28, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James Louis Wells and Jeanne Lavonne Smith Wells. \r\r\nMike served in the United States Army National Guard. \r\r\nHe graduated with a Business degree from Oklahoma State University and became an owner of Dubie-Wells Insurance Agency, in addition to various other real estate ventures. He then retired to stay home to love and care for his family. \r\r\nMike was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tulsa for over 37 years. He served for the Carpenters Sunday School class and was a youth member volunteer and a former Administrative Board Member. Mike was also a Board Member of Ben Ferrell Ministries as well as Last Say Ministries, Eagle Rock International Church, and many others. Mike belonged to the Tulsa Home Builders Association, Delta Chi Fraternity; and was an Oklahoma State University Alumni Member.\r\r\nSurvivors include his wife of 48 years and high school sweetheart Peggy Stone Wells of the home; two daughters, Margaret Posadas and husband Marvin of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Mary Riley and husband Patrick of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one son, Jay Wells of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; four grandsons, Charlie Bowlds of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jacob Mojica, Isaiah Posadas, and Jaxon Riley, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers, Don Wells and wife Becky and Steve Wells and wife Nancy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; uncle, Dr. Cecil Wells of Bixby, Oklahoma and nephews Grant Wells and Sam Wells as well as others. \r\r\nMike was proceeded in death by parents, James and Jeanne Wells, his daughters Elizabeth Wells and Julie Wells, brother Ricky Wells, and nephew Ryan Wells.\r\r\nA Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Dillon Marler Dighton Funeral Home's Legacy Chapel, 1200 North Cleveland, Sand Springs, Oklahoma.\r\r\nA Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, 1115 South Boulder, Tulsa, Oklahoma.\r\r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Music Ministry of First United Methodist Church, 1115 South Boulder Ave, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74119.
