JoAnn Vaughn

–

Tulsa, Oklahoma

JoAnn Vaughn was born in Quinton, Oklahoma to Odus and Irene Graves and went to
be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 22, 2026, after battling cancer. She
passed away peacefully at the age of 87, having lived a life full of family and friends and
faith.

JoAnn was the 3rd of 4 children born to Odus and Irene and she and her siblings shared
many fun days together on the farm. She and her younger sister, being only 18 months
apart, were inseparable and shared laughs together throughout JoAnn’s life. JoAnn
graduated from Quinton high school and quickly moved to Tulsa to attend business
school and work. It was in Tulsa that she met Lee Roy Vaughn and they were married
in 1958 and spent over 60 years together. After Lee Roy’s retirement, they enjoyed
travels around the world and annual trips to Branson with Nathan. JoAnn enjoyed being
a stay home mom and met many wonderful friends during those years as the Westside
Avon lady. When the kids were older, she became the church secretary at Carbondale
Assembly of God. A position she held for 24 years, loving and serving her church
family. She genuinely loved people. It was God’s gift to JoAnn to be able to call
everyone by name. She was a devoted member of Carbondale and after retirement
from serving as the church secretary, she quickly transitioned into serving the seniors of
Carbondale, the Sonshine Group. Making all the personalized name tags, keeping
rosters and most of all always inviting new faces to come and join the fun. First
Thursday every month, she was excited to see her brothers and sisters in Christ and
share in their lives. After Lee Roy’s passing in 2020, she continued to care for Nathan
and enjoy eating out and attending many Christian concerts in Tulsa and surrounding
areas.

She deeply loved her heavenly father, her friends and her family. She is predeceased
by her parents, Odus and Irene Graves; her husband, Lee Roy; and a brother and
sister, Olen Graves and Ouida Finch. She is survived by one sister, Sue Stanfield of
Quinton, OK; one son, Keith and wife Joyce and one daughter, Denise Long, of Tulsa;
grandchildren Nathan Wilkerson, Tyler Vaughn and wife Julia, Austin Vaughn and Jacob
Long; Great Grandchildren Blake, Gentry, Scout and Parker Vaughn and a host of
nieces and nephews.

JoAnn’s loving spirit will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Her celebration of life will be on Friday, February 27 at 10am at
Carbondale Assembly of God Church. Final resting place will be in
the Enterprise Cemetery, Enterprise, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations
can be made to Carbondale Assembly of God Church, Tulsa, OK.
