John Eric Black

John Eric Black, born on the 22nd of August 1960, was a beloved father, husband and friend. He lived a rich, fulfilling life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He was born and raised in Tulsa, OK where he married the love of his life, Teresa Knowles. Eric was a lover of nature and the outdoors, and especially the water. His happiest moments were spent with his wife by the lake, fishing and boating, or cruising together on his motorcycle.

He was a man who lived his life with tenacity and grit, and it was this spirit that won him many acquaintances and friends in his life. He was a man who loved his family deeply, giving them the best of him, and instilling values of love, respect, and hard work. Eric was a man whose memory will always be cherished, not only for his achievements and the life he built, but for the love he gave and the hearts he touched.

Eric was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teresa Knowles, and his parents, John Frank and Ruth Mildred Black.

He is survived by his daughter, Katherine and husband Mathew Keefer, Grandchildren Nia and Ruthanne Keefer, and Jack and Zane Shultz, and daughter Nikki and husband Zach Schultz.

Eric will be laid to rest on Thursday, the 21st of May 2026. The service will commence at 2:00pm CDT at Dillon Funeral Service-Legacy Chapel, 1200 North Cleveland Avenue, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, 74063. This will be followed by burial at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery, 1200 North Cleveland Avenue, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, 74063.

Eric's life will be celebrated, and his memory honored, showing the world that a life lived with love and courage leaves behind a legacy that echoes through time.
