Joyce Fanning

Joyce Elaine Fanning (Wenhold), 86, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026. She was born July 19, 1940, to Mamie (Erb) and Willard “Gernie” Wenhold.

Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who cherished her family deeply. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was simply known as Granny. Joyce especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, indulging in sweets, drinking Diet Pepsi, and making late-night ice cream runs.

Joyce had a strong faith in Jesus. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and the love of her life, Robert “Pop Pop” Fanning; her daughter, Karen Ziegler; her grandchildren, Heather Garoutte and Jesse Ziegler; her parents, Mamie (Erb) and Willard “Gernie” Wenhold; and her brother, James Wenhold.

She is survived by her children, James Monteressi, Brenda Rose, Jay Huber, Dawn Russell, Larry Allem, Kelly Roberts, Bonnie Kame, and Willard “Pete” Roberts; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and loved ones.

Joyce will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is at home with Jesus and reunited with the loved ones who went before her.
