In Loving Memory of Karla
On Friday evening, August 21, Karla left this world after a courageous journey with metastatic breast cancer.
Karla was the sweetest, bravest, and toughest warrior I have ever known. Even through the pain and discomfort of her illness, she faced each day with extraordinary grace, strength, and kindness. Somehow, no matter how difficult things became, the warmth in her heart and the light in her spirit continued to shine through.
Karla loved people deeply, but most of all, she loved her family and friends. She had a remarkable way of making the people around her feel loved, welcomed, and cared for. Those who knew her will remember not only her strength, but her tenderness, her beautiful heart, and the kindness she so freely gave to others.
Karla is survived by her beloved husband, Jean; her mother, Doris Winford; her son, Jeremy Coulter; and her daughter, Charity Scott. She is also survived by her brothers, Jimmy and Tony and Tony’s wife, Becky; her sister, Shellie and brother-in-law, Greg; and her sister, Diana and brother-in-law, Al. Her legacy of love also lives on through her many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was loved by everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Her absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled, but the love she gave us will remain.
Most of all, Karla was deeply loved by her husband, Jean, who will forever be in love with this extraordinary woman. Their love was, and will always be, a beautiful part of her story.
We will miss her more than words can express. But we will carry Karla with us—in our hearts, in our memories, and in the love she gave so generously to all of us. We will never forget her beautiful light, and we will continue to see that light in the lives of all those she loved.
Rest peacefully, sweet Karla. You fought so bravely. You were so deeply loved. And you always will be.
