Kevin Charles Ellison

Kevin Charles Ellison was born December 2, 1959, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Kenneth Charles Ellison and Wilma Ruth (Hamby) Ellison. He departed from Tulsa to his heavenly home on November 22, 2022.

Kevin worked hard his entire life. He started working at the age of 12 at a Tulsa Texaco gas station located on Memorial Drive. At age 17, he began his career as a master drywall finisher and continued this line of work for 42 years. Kevin's family had traditionally worked in the fields of accounting, business and law, but Kevin found that he couldn't sit still at a desk all day--he preferred working with his hands.

Kevin and his former wife, Rhonda Dampf, were married in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1978. From this union three precious children were born: Keith Charles, April Rose and Amy Kristin. Kevin's most cherished role was being their father.

He loved coaching his son, Keith's, football teams through the 1980s and 1990s. He also loved watching his favorite team play, O.U.

Kevin and Deborah Brees (his present wife) were married on June 22, 2001, bringing three bonus children into his family: Christie Gordon, David Marshall and Mark Marshall.

Kevin enjoyed quail hunting with his father, Ken, and his brothers. He loved to fish above all and went fishing with family and friends, or even by himself.

In his later years Kevin spent a lot of time watching documentaries about World War I and World War II and was keenly interested in images transmitted from the Hubble and James Webb space telescopes.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Deborah Ellison; his father, Kenneth Charles Ellison and wife, Connie (Kevin's second mother); son, Keith Ellison and wife, Niki; five grandsons: Korey, Ben, Ethan, Christian, and Dawson; three great-grandsons: Kayden, Carlos and Julian; daughter, April Burns and husband, Seth; two granddaughters: Ellie and Kennedy; grandson, Easton; daughter, Amy Cawood and husband, Chris.

His children gained through marriage: daughter, Christie Gordon and husband, Kevin; three granddaughters: Genevieve Gilstrap and husband, Peter; three great-grandsons: James, George and Jeremiah; and great-granddaughter, Irene; Chelsey Fritts and husband, Zach; great-grandson, Jacob; granddaughter, Sophia; and grandson, Samuel; son, David Marshall and wife, Stacy; son, Mark Marshall and wife, Misty; four grandsons: Phillip Marshall and wife, Karisa; Cody Marshall; Mason McAbee and wife, Autumn; Marshall McAbee and wife, Shelby; two granddaughters: Leslie Harlien and husband, Lucas; Macilah McAbee and husband, Malcolm; three great-grandsons: Wendel, Jack and Taylor; four great-granddaughters: Peyton, Emma, Charlotte, and Everly.

Four brothers: Steven Ellison and fiancee, Melanie; Terry Ellison and wife, Cathy; Tabor Ellison and wife, Jen; Brent Ellison and wife, Sara; four sisters: Kimberly Williams and husband, Cutty; Diane Paxon and husband, Rhett; Deedra Reece and husband, Ryan; Lorrie Patterson and husband, Cleve.

Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Wilma Ruth (Hamby) Ellison.

And Kevin loved them ALL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022, in the Dillon Funeral Home located at 1200 North Cleveland Avenue in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, with Pastor Chuck Burton officiating.
