Sand Springs, Oklahoma

Marie Fern (Wallace) Smith, born July 20, 1938 in Mannford, Oklahoma to Herman and Myrtle Wallace departed her earthly life on December 2, 2023 in Tulsa, OK.

Marie was a woman of many passions. She was a dedicated employee of Kerr Glass in Sand Springs, OK until her retirement, but her true joy was found in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid bingo player and a frequent visitor of local flea markets, always on the lookout for the perfect addition to her cherished Avon doll collection. True to her Oklahoma roots, Marie had a special love for cooking fried chicken, a dish that became legendary among her family and friends. She took delight in expressing her personality through her jewelry and her meticulously styled nails and hair. Marie's fascination with Christmas lights turned into an annual tradition of traveling around town, particularly to Rhema in Broken Arrow, to marvel at the twinkling displays.

Marie is survived by her husband, Franklin Herbert Smith of the home; daughters, Marcia Mann and husband, Tom of Tulsa, Evalee Handley of Sand Springs, Debra Coles and husband, John of Sand Springs, Denise Bryant and husband, Doug of Sand Springs; son, Rocky Jeffers of Sand Springs; step-children, Pamela Smith of Miami, OK and Alan Smith of Broken Arrow; 17 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Myrtle Wallace; brothers, James Wallace, Arthur Wallace, and Clayton Wallace; sisters, Helen Baney, Evelyn Tanner, Clara Williams, and her son, Michael Jeffers.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 2:00pm CST at the Landmark Tabernacle, located at 4700 Oklahoma 97, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, 74063.
