Martin Joseph Nolan Jr.

–

Sand Springs, Oklahoma

Martin Joseph Nolan, Jr., (88), formerly of California, passed away in Oklahoma on March 27, 2023.

Martin, fondly known by family, friends and colleagues as Skip, was born to Martin and Stella Nolan on November 24, 1934 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He was a highly experienced engineer who retired from the United States Air Force, Honeywell, and Lockheed Martin and worked on many "top secret" projects such as Skunk Works. Martin was also a lover of Volleyball and coached many teams throughout his life, including his daughters, and step-granddaughter in his later years. Aside from his love of volleyball, he had a wonderful sense of humor and was kind and generous to all who knew him as well as those who did not. Martin positively impacted everyone who knew him and had great love for his family. While Martin left too soon, the impact he had on his family and friends will be felt for years to come and he will be truly missed.

Martin is survived by his current wife, Lydia Nolan (Ca/Oklahoma) and his five children, Michael Nolan (Florida), Maureen Hanson (Idaho), Melissa Rothmeyer, (California), Mary Friedel, (New York), and Margaret Young (California) from his marriage of 52 years to Rosalie Helen Nolan (deceased). Martin is also survived by 13 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild, Leah Nolan (recently deceased). Martin also is survived by two step-children, Vicki Newton (Oklahoma) and Mathew Kidner (California), and several step-grandchildren.
