Michelle "Shelly" Tacha Obituary (1969 - 2024)

Michelle "Shelly" Renee Tacha, born on August 19, 1969, in Burns Flat, Oklahoma, was undeniably a charismatic and vibrant soul who lived her life to the fullest. She was a loving daughter, a supportive sister, an adoring mother, and a steadfast friend. Her infectious laughter and warm spirit were a testament to her zest for life, making her an instant favorite among all who had the privilege of knowing her. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Shelly embodied this sentiment, touching countless hearts with her kindness and generosity. Known for her tireless dedication to her family, friends, and community, Shelly was a beacon of love and strength. Professionally, she was a skilled cardiac event monitor, dedicating over 20 years of service at St. Francis Hospital. However, Shelly's passion for service extended far beyond her professional endeavors. She was actively involved in several non-profit organizations including Lisa Bain Ministries and the Oklahoma German Shepard Rescue, always eager to lend a helping hand where it was needed. Shelly found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as swimming, sunbathing, dancing, and attending concerts. She was an avid animal lover, adoring her two dogs, Stella and Max, and her cat, Cassie. She was preceded in death by her father, Preston Hollis; her grandparents, Velma and Euell "Woody" Wood; and two aunts, Brenda Tooker and Bettie Wood. Shelly leaves behind a loving family including her son, Joshua Tacha; mother, Beverly Hollis; three sisters, Stephanie Lancaster and her husband Ed, Stacey Smith and her husband Mike, and Ashley Hollis and her fiancé Albert; and nephews, Jakob Lancaster, Taylor Lancaster, Avery Lancaster, and Ty Smith. She is also survived by her stepson Matt Tacha and his three children, and her best friend Kristi Westphal-Anderson. In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Shelly's loving, supportive, and charismatic nature will forever be etched in our hearts and memories.
