Mollie Gates

Mollie Lou Gates went to be with the Lord September 29, 2024 surrounded by family at her home in Yale OK. Her & her twin sister Dovie were the oldest set of living identical twins in Oklahoma. Mollie was born February 8, 1939 to Anna Jewel & Wallace Braughton, in Quay OK. She was an identical twin too Dovie Sue. Mollie & Dovie both attended school in Quay from kindergarten up to 10th grade.

She married Harvey Gates on June 14, 1954. Their first child Betty was born March 12, 1955, from there came Donnie, Donna, Carol, & Carla were stair stepped. Molly & Harvey were married 20 years when Harvey passed away. In 1976 she married Jim Hidelson & gained a few bonus kids (Pearl Thomas) he passed away 1 day after their 1st anniversary. She was single 20yrs, until reuniting with a life long friend Clyde Britton. They were together for years. They enjoyed every minute together, spending time with grandkids, working on cars & motorcycles, traveling on Clyde’s trike to church Bike Rally’s, & they loved going on toy runs together.

Mollie was a CNA. She worked at Yale nursing home & did private home care most of her adult life. She loved to spend time with family, crocheting baby blankets for her grandkids & enjoyed shopping, going out to dinner, & spending time with her twin sister Dovie. She loved Halloween, passing out candy, keeping track of every trick or treater on a notebook, getting lots of hugs & taking pics. Her favorite thing to do was love on her great great granddaughters Finley Jade & Kenna Richelle.

She is survived by her identical twin sister Dovie Sue Skinner. 4 daughters Betty & husband Gary Cussner of Cushing Donna & husband Dale Baney of Jennings Carol & husband the late James Rich of Yale Carla & husband the late Cecil Schonfeild of Cushing, 12 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren & 1 on the way.

She is preceded in death by Her parents Anna & Wallace Broughton, her son Donnie Gates, multiple siblings, 2 grandkids Becky Harris, Amber Villofranco, & 1 great grandkid Alicia Villafranco, 2 husbands Harvey Gates, Jim Hudelson, & her best friend Clyde Britton among many others.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 4:00pm CDT at Yale Assembly of God, 777 Glory Road, Yale, Oklahoma, 74085. The funeral service will be on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 10:00am CDT at the same location. The service will be live-streamed at https://dilloncares.com/obituaries/molly-gates. The burial will follow at 11:30am CDT at Lawson Cemetery, 3003 North Lawson Road, Yale, Oklahoma, 74085.
