Rev. F.M. Byford Obituary (1930

Reverend F.M. Byford, age 83, formally of Sapulpa, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at his home in Bixby. F.M. was born on November 29, 1930 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Monroe and Florence (Mobley) Byford. He graduated from Duncan High School and went to Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee receiving his Bachelor of Science in Ministerial Studies. F.M. married Anna Sears on September 6, 1953 in Shawnee. He went to Central State University in Edmond where he received his master's degree. F.M. and Anna were in the ministry for more than 50 years pastoring churches in Osage, Prue, Oglesby, Hallett, Terlton, Lindsey, and Freedom Hill in Oklahoma and as Minister of Education at Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Paramount in Amarillo, Texas. For 18 years he taught high school English and Journalism while also pastoring. He retired from teaching and entered the full time ministry in 1974. F.M. had a large passion for Ministry. He is survived by his wife Anna Byford of the home, two sons; Mark Byford and wife Cindy of Broken Arrow and Chad Byford and wife Amy of Amarillo, Texas; a brother, Odell Byford and wife Carolyn of Duncan, Oklahoma; two sisters, Lestine Fowler and husband Scotty of Dallas, Texas, Shirley Reed of Ohio; six grandchildren, Luke Byford and wife Emily of Ft. Worth, Matt Byford of Houston, Texas, Keeley Byford, Josslyn Byford, Aubry Byford, and Chadon Byford of Amarillo, Texas; also two great-grandchildren, Lydia Byford and Evie Byford of Ft. Worth. F.M. was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Susan Shipman, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
