Richard William 'Rick' Dotts, 58, of Tulsa, went to be with his Heavenly Father August 2, 2016 in his home. Rick was born in Perry, OK. to Richard & Betty Dotts. He graduated from McAlester High School and later attended OU for a few years, where he studied law enforcement. (Our parents went to OSU & all 3 siblings went to OU) BOOMER! \r\r\n\r\r\nAs a child Rick enjoyed spending time with friends & big sisters Debby & Denise and adventuring out with family on yearly summer vacations. (Always including a fishing hole). Family and friends were the most important things to Rick, except for all the random strangers he helped as well. Rick loved being an uncle and great uncle and was always the life of family and holiday gatherings. Rick also enjoyed fishing. He & our dad went fishing a lot as did the whole family. Some of us didn't take to it like Rick did. Rick was very active in his church, Skelly Drive Baptist Church. He served by preparing/helping with the audio/visual effects during services, as well as other areas. He also served his community by just being Rick. Whatever/whenever anyone needed, he was there to help.\r\r\n\r\r\nHe worked in the dry cleaning industry for many many years, but recently was employed by J.D. Young.\r\r\nRick is survived by his sisters Denise Shelton, Norman and Debbie Gilliam Martinez,Las Vegas, NV., nephews Bryson Shelton & wife Kisha and children Symphony and Rhys, Norman, Blake Shelton, Yukon.and Breck Shelton, Norman, as well as numerous friends and other family members. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents Richard & Betty Dotts.\r\r\n\r\r\nVisitation for Rick is Friday, August 5, 3-8pm at Dillon Marler Dighton Funeral Home in Sand Springs. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 6 at 11 a.m. at Skelly Drive Baptist Church, 8504 E. Skelly Drive in Tulsa.
