Richard Eckles

–

Sand Springs, Oklahoma

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Stephen Eckles, born on January 20, 1952, in Tulsa, OK. Known for his vibrant spirit and infectious laughter, Richard was a beacon of joy and strength to all who knew him.

Richard, a retiree of the service industry, was a man of many passions. He found joy in the kitchen, where his love of cooking brought people together over shared meals and memories. An avid fisherman, Richard loved nothing more than casting a line out on a calm day, letting the world's worries drift away. His love for building things was reflected in everything from beautiful furniture to the fast cars he adored. Richard had a knack for storytelling, often leaving his audience in fits of laughter. His dogs, Finny and Barney, were the recipients of his boundless affection and were always entertained by his antics.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Debby Eckles, and wife, Susan Hume Eckles, and his children, Ashley and Zachary Eckles. He is survived by his sons, Stephen and Troy Eckles, his sister Suzanne Bush and her husband, Ted, niece Missie Lively, granddaughter Jordan Eckles, and his beloved dogs, Finny and Barney. His legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of those who loved him, reminding us to live life with joy and laughter.

In the words of Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Richard's life touched so many, and his memory will inspire us always. We encourage you to share your fond memories and photos of Richard on his memorial page. His life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and resilience, and we invite you to help us keep his spirit alive by sharing your stories and memories of Richard Eckles.
