Robert Wayne Martin

Robert Wayne Martin, age 81 of Sand Springs, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Gardens Nursing Home in Sapulpa. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Angus Church in Sand Springs, OK. Arrangements are entrusted to Dillon Marler Dighton Funeral Home in Sand Springs.

Robert was born on April 14, 1936 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Bunion and Audie (George) Martin. He grew up and attended and graduated High School from Sand Springs in 1954, he married the love of his life Gladys Jones, and to this union two sons were born Mike and Jeff.

Robert worked for the OREA for 35 years and the 15 years for the First Baptist Church in Tulsa. When he was not working Robert enjoyed camping, working on cars, working in the yard, and watching OU sports, he was always on the move, but most of all, Robert loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Gladys of the home; two sons, Mike Martin and wife Marsha and Jeff Martin and wife Rhonda; two grandchildren, Derek Martin and wife Tori and Jace Martin and wife Jennifer; three great-grandchildren, Madison Martin, Lyric Martin, and Connor Martin; and one sister, Glenda Chalk.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and 1 sister.
