Sung Yo Kim, a spirited soul whose ambition and love knew no bounds, left an indelible mark on this world when she passed away on August 25, 2023. Born in Kangwon-do, South Korea on January 10, 1960, Sung's journey brought her to Lawton, Oklahoma, where she established her life for three decades. Sung was a beacon of light to those who knew her, embodying a rare combination of dedication, love, and spirit that touched everyone who crossed her path.\n\nSung's lifelong pursuit was to provide a warm, welcoming space for people to gather, and she did so through her love for food and community. For 20 years, Sung ran the beloved Annie's Okies Runway Cafe in Oklahoma City. Prior to that, she owned a small, charming coffee shop in Lawton. These establishments were more than places of business; they were an extension of Sung herself - filled with warmth and love. As Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Whatever your life's work is, do it well," and Sung did just that, with an unwavering commitment to her craft and community.\n\nYet, above all, what mattered most to Sung was her family. She was a loving mother to Summer Horn and Don Harvey, and a doting grandmother to Braeden Horn, Waylon Horn, and Helena Harvey. Sung's love for her family was the driving force of her life, and her legacy will continue to live on through them. She was preceded in death by her father, Tong Kim, her mother, Sun Chon, and her daughter, Sun.\n\nTo celebrate the incredible life of Sung Yo Kim, a memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 10:00 AM CDT at the Dillon Funeral Service, 1200 North Cleveland Avenue, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, 74063.\n\nAs we remember Sung, we invite you to share your memories and upload photos of her to the memorial page. Celebrate Sung's life by remembering the love, dedication, and spirit she brought into this world.
