Velden Mae Williams Obituary (1922

Velden Mae Williams, age 91 of Sand Springs, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in Sapulpa. Velden was born to Cyrus Nixon and LaVada Florence (Hill) Ketcherside in Marion County, Arkansas. She attended school in Marion County, Arkansas and moved with her family to McAlester, Oklahoma as a little girl. The family later moved to Sand Springs in 1951. Velden married Kermit Clifton Williams on July 13, 1939. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2001. Velden worked for Kerr Glass for five years then became a stay at home mom. She loved doing yard work, enjoyed her flowers and most of all she loved her family and her pets. She is survived by her three daughters; Eva Henley and husband Nelson of Sand Springs, Louise Boyd and husband James of Sand Springs and Lois McFerrin and husband Charles of Terlton, 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. Velden is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters, 4 brothers and a daughter; Lorraine Hamner.
