Verble Leo Caviness, 87 of Sand Springs, Oklahoma passed from this life on Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Tulsa. He was born on October 1, 1929 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, a son of Arthur Caviness and Susie Burchett Caviness.\r\n\r\nVerble grew up in Tahlequah and moved to Sand Springs at an early age. He later joined the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. After serving in the army he went on to become a welder and retired at C.E. Natco after 31 years. He was a member of Carbondale Assembly of God Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also loved woodworking.\r\n\r\nHe married the love of his life, Joy M. Caviness. They made their home in Sand Springs and together they raised two daughters.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include his loving wife, Joy M. Caviness of the home; two daughters, Janet Ridens of Mounds, Oklahoma and Susan Binney and husband Gary of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, Braden Bush and fiance Sherry Frisbie of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Mark Binney and wife Erin of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jillian Kelly and husband Chris of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jessica Ridens and fiance Chuck of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jenna Burger and husband Derek of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Justine Ridens and fiance Kerry of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Brittany, Jesse and Collin.\r\n\r\nVerble was proceeded in death by his parents, Arthur and Susie Burchett Caviness; two sisters, Irby Archibald and Letha Sam.\r\n\r\nA visitation is scheduled on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 9:00 am till 8:00 pm with family receiving friends from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Dillon Marler Dighton Funeral Home, 1200 North Cleveland, Sand Springs, Oklahoma 74063.\r\n\r\nA Celebration of Life Service is scheduled Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Carbondale Assembly of God Church, 2135 W 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74107.\r\n\r\nIn Lieu of flowers the family wishes for donations to be made to the Carbondale Assembly of God Building Fund.
