Wanda Jo Pestel, born on July 15, 1944, in Denver, CO, was a woman of love, strength, and wisdom, whose radiant spirit brought joy to all who knew her. She embodied the verse from 1 Corinthians 13:7, "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." Wanda, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, was a guiding star to her family and friends, always reminding them, "I love you more." Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
As a successful business owner, Wanda demonstrated her intelligence and determination. She owned Pestel Plumbing for years before transitioning to medical transcription, where she retired from Oklahoma Heart. Her dedication and work ethic were unmatched, and she was admired by many for her accomplishments. However, her professional achievements were only part of her story. Wanda was a devoted den mother for the cub scouts, a "brownie", and she loved engaging in her hobbies of reading, watching horse races, and writing poetry. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unparalleled, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Wanda was also a Christian and a baptized Baptist.
Wanda is survived by her devoted husband, James Richard Pestel; her sons, Randy Pestel and Rick and his wife, Kim Pestel; her sister, Carol Marietta Seitz; her granddaughters, Heather, Kasandra, Christy, Veronica, Kristen, and Sydni; her great-grandchildren, Delilah, Hunter, Ember, Colton, and Liberty; and her niece and nephew, Vicki and David. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Wanda Seitz, and her brother, Ronald Lewis Seitz.
Wanda's life will be celebrated in a graveside-green burial service on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 10:00 am CST at Dillon Funeral Service, 1200 North Cleveland Avenue, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, 74063.
